Music lovers in the region will have an opportunity to hear two of the finest instrumentalists in the world when Leonid Gorokhov and Nikolai Demidenko appear for Teesside Music Society on January 20 at Stokesley Methodist Church.
Gorokhov, whose performances on the cello have won acclaim all over the world, appears as a member of the Hermitage Trio, the string group he formed with Valeriy Sokolov and Alexander Zemtsov, virtuosi themselves, and the trio is steeped in the tradition of Russian string playing.

Demidenko, pictured above, a pianist famed for his technical brilliance and ferocious energy, joins the trio to peform the piano quartets of Brahms and Mahler and the Adagio and Rondo Concertante of Schubert.
The programme is completed by Dohnanyi's Serenade for string trio.
Artists of this stature are rarely seen in these parts, and advantage should be taken of their visit.
Members and others intending to make use of this opportunity should note the early timing of the concert.

The Hermitage Trio, pictured above, & Nikolai Demidenko at Stokesley Methodist Church on Sunday January 20 at 4pm. Entrance 10 (4 students/ claimants).
