IN a recent article (Tributes As Chop Gate Primary School Head Retires) we reported that much improvement had been achieved at Chop Gate school since "a disappointing Ofsted report needed improvement in every area."
We are happy to point out that the reference was to a 1999 report, not 1995 when the school was hugely praised for its very high standards. We have also been asked to point out that the 1999 report could not be described as "disappointing" either, and at no time was it suggested that universal improvement was required at the school.
We apologise for any upset this may have caused to anyone at the school, or formerly connected with the school.
