Stokesley FC

STOKESLEY FC A were in rampant form against Greatham B - winning 14-0.

Stokesley started very brightly and played some good early football, taking an early lead. Ryan Dury struck first while Jack Cunningham followed up with a second.

Further goals from midfield dynamos Tom Vickers and Jonathan Boal, after an excellent pass from Matt Hall, and a second from Dury gave them a healthy 5-0 lead at half time.

Greatham occasionally encroached on the Stokesley defence but defenders Hurst, Thorogood, Stevenson and Thomas did well to prevent any shots on goal.

Debutant Danny Matthews slotted straight in to the team and performed very well.

The second half continued in the same vein and further goals came from Crawley, Vickers, Boal, Hinchliffe , McKeown and two more from Dury.

The rout was completed with a first ever goal for defender Robbie Thorogood, who had a rare opportunity to take the centre forward role for the last 10 minutes.

This was a very good team performance from Stokesley, who showed their strength against a team from a much lower division. And to their credit Greatham kept going until the end.

Man of the match went to Ryan Dury.
