Rev Pev joins Christmas Spirits

Scrooge---Cratchits.jpg

Rev Pev, the Vicar of Great Ayton, will be donning a nightshirt and nightcap to play the part of Ebenezer Scrooge in the Bradley School of Dance production of Scrooge. The Musical will take place in the Parochial Hall, Great Ayton, beginning on Tuesday 9th December and with further shows at 2pm and 6pm on Saturday 13th and 2pm on Sunday 14th December.

The musical Scrooge is based on Charles Dickens story A Christmas Carol, where the grumpy old moneylender, Ebenezer Scrooge, is visited by Ghosts to show him the error of his mean ways. It features a variety of songs, both lively and moving.

Paul says, "When I was asked to play the part, I accepted for two reasons. Firstly because it is one of the best stories ever written showing just how people can change and start again. I have read it myself every year since I first came across it when just 13 and at school and it never ceases to move me. The second reason is that my children think I am a natural for the role! There comes a time in all our lives when we all turn into our parents, and I now go around the house asking them to turn out the lights or the fire and grumble as to how much more expensive every thing is from my day!"

"The youngsters in the Bradley School of Dance are a delight to work with, and they are very welcoming to a geriatric like me. If anyone wants to hear a good Christmas message, come along to the show". Tickets will be on sale at Great Ayton Library from Tuesday 2nd December, or you can contact the Principal, Margaret Connelly on 723250 to reserve yours.
