AN English National Sheepdog Trial is to go ahead, despite the recent foot and mouth outbreak.
It may be altered to suit restrictions, but the trial, scheduled for Busby Hall at Carlton-in-Cleveland near Stokesley, is set to run from today until Saturday. It’s the most important annual event in the English dog-handlers' calendar. Similar events are being held in Ireland, Wales and Scotland and the top 15 competitors in each national heat go on to represent their country in the International Trial in September. They will also qualify for the World Trials in Wales in 2008.
