On the 19th, 20th and 21st of this month, June, 'B' Company of Cleveland Army Cadet Force
went on there Green Field weekend summer camp. The weekend started off great upuntill Saturday afternoon, then the heavens opened up, as i'm sure you all know, seeing how it was all over the country.
The cadets got absolutley soaked as did us all, but because of the tenacity of the cadets they never let it bother them at all.
Myself and the rest of the adult instuctors were realey proud of them, they did all that was asked of them and never moaned or complained once, it was absolutlely fantastic to see them carry on the way they did even tough they were wet through.
They did themselves proud, they realey did, they just prooved that being a cadet meant that not only do they enjoy the good times but they also enjoy the rough times aswell.
As the heading says, WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GET GOING, and these Cadets got going.
I was one of the instuctors teaching the one star level group, and not to blow my own trumpet or anything but i might add that my group won best group and Cadet Brown who was in my section won best cadet in the one star level.
All in all although the weekend was hard because of the weather but we all still had a great time and enjoyed it very much, as they say, youv'e got to take the rough with the smooth, and we did.
So i wouold like to say a very well done to all of the cadets who attended the Green Field weekend and hope to see you all at summer camp in August.
