INTERNATIONALLY-renowned equestrian author and lecturer Mary Wanless, pictured, was on Teesside to work her magic on local horse riders.
The Ride With Your Mind demonstration saw three horse and rider combinations transform under her watchful eye.
An audience of more than 100 turned up on Friday to watch the event at the Unicorn Centre in Hemlington in the hope of picking up tips to improve their own riding.
Mary’s approach shows riders of all abilities how to organise their mind and body in the same way as the world’s most ‘talented’ riders do.
She believes that by increasing the rider’s body awareness and using images which help them understand both what to do and how to do it, incredible improvements can be obtained in a very short time, defying traditional expectations.

Felicity Evens, 25, who works at the Unicorn Centre was among those who got to benefit from Mary’s expertise.
“It was a really good experience, said Felicity who had her position altered by Mary as she rode riding school pony Charlie.
“It hurt when she first moved me about.
“But straight away he dropped his head and I felt him come up through his back.
“What a big difference.
Mary said: “I’m on a mission to change the way riding is taught and the way riders think about their horses.
