Pledge on refuse pick-ups in Middlesbrough

REFUSE collections in Middlesbrough are hitting problems.

In some area of the borough refuse bins and sacks have not been collected on the due date. Middlesbrough Council says it is working to sort out the problem.

A council spokesman told the Gazette: “Due to recent changes in working arrangements a number of refuse collections have not been completed on their designated collection day.

“Managers are working with staff to ensure that these problems are rectified as soon as possible.

“Any excess domestic refuse caused by these problems will be collected and extra litterpicks are being carried out where required.

He said that to improve levels of customer service and recycling performance the council was currently carrying out a review.

My refuse and recycling collections have worked perfectly and have stuck to the timetable given by the council.

A council spokesman said "that to improve levels of customer service and recycling performance the council was currently carrying out a review".

Why try and fix something that ain't broke??

Problem still not rectified, this is 2nd week that the Wednesday refuse collection has not occurred.

Refuse collection that was due on Wednesday has just happened at 0915 on SATURDAY, this review must be working really well. Looked on MBC website, no mention of the problem (only a problem with "green waste").
