Farmyard fun for all the family at Newham Grange Leisure Farm

farm3.jpgCUTE baby animals proved to be the main attraction at a packed Middlesbrough farm.

Newham Grange Leisure Farm in Coulby Newham saw a surge in visitors during a spring day out for families across Teesside.

Young visitors got the chance to drop in on Thursday afternoon and hold some of the smaller animals that live at the farm.

“We’ve been absolutely packed, said farm manager Mark Saunders.

“At the moment we have lots of piglets, calves, chicks and lambs.

“All the baby animals have arrived and spring is the time the farm is very popular.

The attraction had more visitors than expected for this time of year, as the late Easter school holiday continued, and winter showers gave way to sunnier spells.

Children could be seen enjoying a ride on a pony, meeting horses and getting close to the farm’s newest arrivals - wooly lambs, chicks and piglets.

“The children had a talk about the animals and then got the chance to hold and stroke them.

Mark believes the leisure farm is going from strength to strength by providing more family events and fun treats for the kids.
