Roadworks in Middlesbrough this week

BOROUGH ROAD

Works are ongoing to remove and replace beams to the approach span of North Ormesby flyover. Traffic signals will be in place throughout the contract and some road closures will be necessary. Diversions will be signed, however access will be maintained for Emergency Services. Work is expected to continue until the end of July 2007.

LYTTON STREET/ ELY STREET/ SALTWELLS ROAD

CE Electric is laying 600m of 11kv cable, as part of the diversionary works for North Ormesby Flyover renewal.

ACKLAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT

Works to construct a new roundabout on Acklam Road at the junction of Springvale Terrace, has been postponed and will now commence on 17th September 2007, continuing for approximately 20 weeks.

SOUTHFIELD ROAD

Works, which will include the construction of a new humped zebra crossing on Southfield Road and a new tabletop plateau on the junction of Southfield Road and Woodlands Road, will commence on 20th August 2007. The works will continue for 8 weeks.

WILSON STREET (ENTRANCE TO SAINSBURY’S)

The construction of a new lane to exit the store will commence on 20th August and continue for 4 weeks.

CORPORATION ROAD

BT installation works are continuing from outside Dr. Browns to the Job Centre until 12th August 2007. Temporary traffic lights will be in place on Sunday 10th August at the junction with Wilson Street.

CAMBRIDGE AVENUE, MARTON

The carriageway will be scarified and resurfaced commencing Monday 6th August 2007.
The works will be ongoing for two weeks with possible vehicle restrictions.

GRANGE CRESCENT, MARTON

The carriageway will be scarified and resurfaced commencing Monday 6th August 2007. The works will be ongoing for two weeks with possible vehicle restrictions.

MACMILLAN COLLEGE, STOCKTON ROAD – ROAD SAFETY SCHEME

Works to provide safety measures at the above location are nearing completion.

GREEN TRANSPORT CORRIDORS – CYCLEWAY INFRASTRUCTURE

Civil works are substantially complete. New lighting works are ongoing and will continue during August 2007.

VARIOUS LOCATIONS - STREET LIGHTING WORKS

The general maintenance of street lighting columns will continue at various locations.

HARROW ROAD AND WESTGATE ROAD, LINTHORPE

NGN are continuing to lay new gas mains at the above location and surrounding roads. The works are nearing completion.

NUT LANE, LONGLANDS

A temporary closure of Nut Lane is required, 15m south of its junction with Marton Road for a distance of 15m in a southerly direction, to replace a section of drainage up to the main sewer. The closure will be effective from 06.00 am on Monday 6th August 2007 for 7 days or until the work is complete, whichever is earlier. A diversion route will be signed along Nut Lane and Boynton Road.

INGRAM ROAD, BERWICK HILLS

Works are continuing to remove a number of damaged grass verges and replace them with tarmac or paving. The works are expected to continue until August 2007.

OVERDALE ROAD, PARK END

Works are continuing to remove grass verges at the above location.

EARLSDON AVENUE, ACKLAM

Footpath works are nearing completion.

FELBY AVENUE, PARK END

Footpath reconstruction works are continuing at the above location.

EVESHAM ROAD, PARK END

Footpath reconstruction works are ongoing at the above location.

WINDLESTON DRIVE, PARK END

Works are continuing to replace grass verges with Tarmac at the above location.

PENISTONE ROAD, PARK END

Works are ongoing to remove grass verges and replace with Tarmac.

ALDRIDGE ROAD, PARK END

Works are ongoing to remove grass verges and replace with Tarmac.

BROADWELL ROAD, EASTERSIDE

Works are ongoing to remove grass verges and replace with Tarmac.

KIMMERTON AVENUE/ OAKENSHAW DRIVE, ACKLAM

Footpath reconstruction works are ongoing at the above location.

EASTGATE ROAD, LINTHORPE

NGN are continuing to install a new gas main at the above location. The works are nearing completion.

NEDL have scheduled works outside the Gazette Office, between 17th and 29th August 2007.

JAMES STREET, NORTH ORMESBY

NEDL works are ongoing to install a supply to the new development in James Street.

MEATH STREET

Footpath reconstruction works will be carried out around the Community Centre on Meath Street, in August 2007 (dates to be confirmed).

LODORE GROVE, ACKLAM

Footpath reconstruction works will be carried out in August 2007 (dates to be confirmed).

LITTONDALE, HEMLINGTON

Footpath works, to include a concrete strip, will be carried out in August 2007 (dates to be confirmed).

GRINKLE/ GISBURN AVENUE, PARK END

The installation of bollards and paving works are ongoing at the above location.

STOCKTON ROAD/ NEWPORT ROUNDABOUT/ NEWPORT BRIDGE

The inaugural Stockton/ Middlesbrough Triathlon is scheduled to take place on Sunday 19th August 2007. Temporary road closures will be in place between 08.00 am and 01.00 pm at the following locations:

Stockton Road, lane closures in place with traffic management in operation.
Newport Roundabout, lane closures in place.
Newport Bridge, full closure in place with traffic diverted onto the A19 flyover.

WORCESTER STREET

Resurfacing works will commence on 13th August 2007 and continue for 1 week.

LEINSTER ROAD

Resurfacing works will commence on 14th August 2007 and continue for 1 week.

PARK VALE ROAD

Resurfacing works will commence on 16th August 2007 and continue for 1 week.
