Coast & Country has enlisted local school children to help with its latest eco project.
It has launched an environmental scheme to plant 100 trees throughout the Redcar and Cleveland Borough. The types being planted include birch, hawthorn, ash, lime, chestnut and flowering cherry, pictured Dave Borrow, of Coast & Country with Bethany Lidster, of Ormesby Primary School.
The first open space to benefit is in Ormesby. Pupils from Ormesby Primary school as well as members of the residents' group from nearby Spencerbeck House helped staff from Coast & Country plant trees and bulbs.
Iain Sim, Coast & Country Chief Executive, said: "We always like to involve residents in projects of this nature as it helps creates a real sense of ownership.
"Such green schemes are educational too as Coast & Country invites eco and nature classes from nearby schools to participate in the planting.
"As the trees grow and become established, they will enhance the character and appearance of the areas where they are being planted."
The launch of the borough-wide planting scheme is Coast & Country's contribution to National Tree Week which runs until December 7.
