COMMUNITY pride is being boosted by a Teesside landlord's work with its residents.
Erimus Housing - Middlesbrough's largest landlord - is signing people up to its Good Neighbourhood Agreement.
It encourages people living in its neighbourhoods to have respect for their areas.
The housing association wants its residents and people living nearby to agree to be part of the scheme to boost the quality of life for people living in the area.
The project has been piloted in four neighbourhoods across Middlesbrough, with plans to roll it out across all Erimus Housing areas.
The agreement has been developed following residents' suggestions they want to build community spirit across all estates and enhance the character that already exists.
The agreement, which is for everyone, not just Erimus tenants, is:
- A voluntary code of good manners and consideration for others
- A way for residents to show support for treating people in their neighbourhood with respect
- A promise by residents to build a strong community spirit and encourage people to become good neighbours
Residents receive a certificate when they sign up, along with a good neighbour window sticker. They are expected to follow a criteria which includes limiting noise and keeping control of pets.
