Roadworks in Middlesbrough

A66 HIGH MAST COLUMN INSTALLATION

Enabling works have commenced for the installation of high mast columns, on the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageways, between the A19 Interchange and Cargo Fleet Interchange. Off-peak lane closures may be in place as the works progress and delays may be expected. The columns will be erected at the end of June 2008 and further details will be given at a later date.

BRIDGE STREET WEST – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

Works are continuing until 20th June 2008, on a storm water sewer on Bridge Street West. The road will be closed between the junction with Stockton Street and the junction with Queen’s Square and diversions will be in place.

BRIDGE STREET EAST – TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

Works are continuing to reconstruct the carriageway and footways on Bridge Street East, from Queens Square to Gray Street. The development works will continue until mid October 2008 and although the road will be closed to vehicles, pedestrian access will be maintained throughout this period.

FREEDOM PARADE

The Yorkshire Regiment will take part in a parade on 18th June 2008, commencing at the Cenotaph at 10.30 am and marching north along Linthorpe Road, turning east on Grange Road and north on Albert Road, concluding at Centre Square. The roads along the route will be closed for approximately 20-30 minutes.

A66 ACOUSTIC BARRIER

Works will continue until 15th June 2008 to replace the existing brick walls with acoustic fencing. The works are located on the northern and southern boundaries of the A66 corridor, between the A19 Interchange and Cannon Park Interchange.

ORMESBY ROAD

NGN works are continuing to replace an old main within the footpath outside Croxdale Fast Fit (at the junction with Balmoral Road). The works will continue until 4th July 2008.

HIGHFIELD ROAD

NWL works are continuing at the entrance to a new development (former Guide Dogs for the blind), near the junction with Lansdowne Road. The works will continue until 16th June 2008.

BOROUGH WIDE SIGNING – ACKLAM ROAD CORRIDOR

Works to replace the existing advance directional signing on Acklam Road/ B1365 will continue until mid June 2008. Works will be located predominantly within the verges and footways, between the borough boundary in the south and Heywood Street in the north.

IDA ROAD, BERWICK HILLS

NGN works are in progress to replace a gas main within the footpaths at the above location. The works have been extended and will continue until 27th June 2008.

ACKLAM ROUNDABOUT

Works to construct a new roundabout on Acklam Road, at the junction of Springvale Terrace, have been unavoidably postponed. They are now scheduled to commence in July 2008.

STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE WORKS

The general maintenance of street lighting columns is continuously ongoing at various locations in Middlesbrough.

FOOTPATH WORKS

OXFORD ROAD/ HAMBLEDON ROAD JUNCTION, LINTHORPE

Works will begin on the creation of build out to the radius at the junction, during the week commencing 9th June 2008.

ROWORTH ROAD, THORNTREE

Works will begin during the week commencing 9th June 2008, to replace grass verges with Tarmac.

TOWN FARM ALLOTMENTS, THORNTREE

Footpath resurfacing works will begin during the week commencing 9th June 2008, on one section of footpath in the allotments.

REETH ROAD, LINTHORPE

Works are continuing on the installation of approximately 12 disabled crossings.

MARTON ROAD, AINDERBY WAY AREA, BEECHWOOD

Works are continuing to refurbish the footpath at the above location.

CLAIRVILLE ROAD (AT SIDE OF ST JOSEPH’S)

Works are ongoing to install anti skid surface at the school crossing.

Graffiti hot spots will be actively patrolled throughout the week at the following locations:
Linden Grove alleyway, Linthorpe
Underpass from Cypress Road to The Grove, Marton
Alleyway to the junction of Park Road South (parallel to Sacred Heart Church), Linthorpe
Beresford Buildings, Thorntree.
