Basketball has been a great success at Nunthorpe this year, there has been lots of opportunity for games against schools in the county to play competitive games in a fun and supporting environment.
The Nunthorpe lions have made a massive impact on the Tees School League this year losing only 1 game in 13 matches.
The year 8 are still undeafed winning 10 games in the league, and progressing to the quater final where they face a talented team from Newlands.
The year 10 team beat a very talented Egglescliffe team to also progress to a quater final showdown against Newlands. The U14 girls team have progressed to the county final beating Conyers 18-4 in the semi final and awaiting their opponents.
They have also played against a Grangefield team who used older students and were narrowly beaten 20-17 in there first ever basketball game, they went on to be beat St Patricks (30-22) in a very tight game.
The students are thoroughly enjoying the success and as head coach of the teams i am extremely proud of their commitment and ability to work as a team.
