Expert support for sporty youngsters in Eston

BORO stars David Wheater and Tuncay Sanli took time out to captain teams of 10 and 11 years olds.

The duo swapped the Rockliffe training ground for the MFC Community Centre in Middlesbrough to lend their support to a community initiative organised by MFC's principle sponsor Garmin, pictured above Middlesbrough's Tuncay Sanli and David Wheater take part in a football game with children from St Edwards RC Primary School in Middlesbrough.

The satellite navigation company has organised two community initiatives as part of its sponsorship deal with the club.

Pupils from St Edward's RC Primary School, in Middlesbrough, joined the Boro duo to take part Forerunner Fitness, a series of fun exercise sessions including football.

Students from Egglescliffe School, in Eaglescliffe, took part in the MFC Enterprise Academy's Marketing Maestro's - The Garmin Challenge, which gives students the chance to apply business knowledge to a real life situation.

Wheater and Tuncay joined a judging panel as the students were set a marketing challenge involving Garmin's nuviphone.

A set of four DVD challenges by Garmin will be used to introduce students to the world of business.
