Wilton 1st Team got the season off to a winning start. The 1st half saw some great passing play from the home side and where soon in front from an excellent breakaway goal from 1st team debut boy Barclay. Wilton came out in the second half, asleep and soaked up a lot of pressure from the "experienced" Tynemouth side. Wilton gathered themselves with 20mins remaining and ran away with the game 4 -1 with goals form Harrison 2, Barclay and the experienced Morton. Man of the Match was Phil Cook of his tireless work in midfield Dummy of the Match was Tom Lawson, the Thornaby sniper struck again

Dummy of Match: Nevison

Wilton 2nd team, had a stuttering start to the season, with several key players missing, new skipper Shea had tough decisions to make. Wilton's relatively inexperienced side defended extremely well in the 1st only conceding in the final minutes of the 1st half after a string of spectacular saves from Man of the Match keeper McHugh. The second half was a different story, Wilton were unable to counter Morpeth's tactical switches and were soon left reeling by a couple of goals in quick succession. Frustration got worse as defender Nevison was given a yellow card for a tame challenge after receiving a green card earlier in the game for dissent The floodgates soon opened and impressive Morpeth ran away with all three points.

Man of Match: Larder

Dummy of Match: Quilliam

Wilton 3rd's short of a full squad, started the season with a bright opening display aganst Sunderland. Expereinced defender Larder marshalling the young squad to claim the Man of the Match. Well done to young Dawson for getting himself on the scoresheet. Captain Quilliam was given the Dummy of the Match for failing to inform the club sec who was the real Dummy, It's tough at the top Stevie!!!
