A CALLOUS thief targeted a woman as she suffered an epileptic fit.
The thief - or thieves - pounced as the victim was left helpless outside a high street store and stole her handbag.
The incident took place while the 42-year-old woman was outside the Co-op on Normanby High Street.
A small crowd of people gathered around in an attempt to help her but when she came round she noticed that someone had stolen her handbag. The light beige leather shoulder bag contained cash, bank cards, keys and other personal items.
PC Lee Derbyshire, of Kirkleatham Police, said: “It’s despicable that someone could do this to a woman at her most vulnerable. Anyone who noticed the bag being taken, or who saw anything they deem to be suspicious can contact me at Kirkleatham Police Office on 01642 302626.

My family and I moved to New Zealand 18 months ago and have been debating whether to move back home to Normanby or not. Dont think I will bother. Absolsutely disgusted that this could happen in Normanby. But it doesn't surprise me either, shame that.
