NEW detection technology is helping Cleveland Police crack down on metal theft.
Police arrested two men who were attempting to steal copper cable in Brunswick Avenue in Teesville at 4am on Sunday.
PC Ian Solomon said: “We are using the latest technology to combat metal theft and I would hope this sends out a message that police can respond immediately.�
The men, one from Normanby and one from Eston, were due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court.
