At the well attended AGM held in the Woodland Centre consideration was given to future projects that are within the capabilities of the Countryside Volunteers and will enhance accessibility or improve understanding of the woodland.

As this will include our first toe dip into the fund seeking pool it was decided that a relatively easy project should be attempted on a trial and error basis.
The provision of an Arboretum, an area of woodland with specimen trees, alongside the centre was decided upon which will include examples of woodland maintenance such as hedge layering and coppicing etc.
Some specimen trees already exist here and the funding raised will allow for the addition of further specimens, the provision of descriptive signs and/or information leaflets and an acceptable path through the area.
When completed it will provide another feature for visiting school parties and interested park users.
Talking of funds, membership renewal fees are due from applicable members, I know, doesn't time fly!
