STUDENTS who want a career working with antiques have the opportunity thanks to a unique course on Teesside.
Cleveland College of Art and Design has teamed up with Harewood House, Temple Newsam, Beamish Museum, and with renowned auction houses, Tennants and Anderson Garland, to run the vocational foundation degree in antiques and design theory and practice at the college's Hartlepool campus.
Malcolm Clements, co-ordinator in contextual studies at the college, said: "It is open to anyone who wants to work with antiques, in museums or setting up a business. It is the only one in the country which is vocational and not theoretical."
The college's partners in the course will give work placements to students. There are 15 places available and three have already been filled. Ring the college on 01429 422000, or go to the UCAS website at www.ucas.co.uk
