MIDDLESBROUGH fine artist, Hannah Campion, has secured important funding to help with the development of her career.

Hannah, pictured above, who began a two month residency at the world famous Gallerie TAKSU in Kuala Lumpur in June, has been awarded £3,000 in funding from one of the UK's leading arts bodies, a-n, The Artists Information Company.
a-n supports contemporary visual artists to help meet their professional needs and their grants are much sought-after by artists all over the UK.
Hannah, who will also be exhibiting her work in Singapore, Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur, will use the funding for a sustained mentoring programme with high profile artists including Middlesbrough-born artist William Tillyer, now credited as one of the UK's best artists.
Mentors will also provide Hannah, from Linthorpe, with professional critiques of her work to help her studio practice move forward and develop in new directions including sculptural paintings and drawings which will form part of her exhibition in Asia.
Hannah, 26, has worked as a professional fine artist for five years following her degree from Loughborough University. In addition, she also lectures in fine art at Teesside University.
Hannah said: "It was a real coup for me to be awarded this funding as the application process is extremely rigorous.
"Thousands of artists apply for the funding which will be vital for the development of my art studio practice.
"I will now be able to benefit from serious critique from high profile artists and professional studio visits which will be the key to my success as I grow my fine art business here in the North-east and around the world."
