As I said the other day I live and have on and off lived in Linthorpe all of my life. It always seems a strange quirk to me that we still call it 'Linthorpe Village' It must be well over a hundred years since it was separated from the rest of Middlesbrough( I'm not sure of the exact history so please enlighten me) but yet the name sticks. I like it, always have done.
My NCTJ exam went fine the other day and I actually answered more questions than I was supposed to in fact. Thanks to the kind lady who commented on Ayresome Gardens and she certainly refreshed my memory as I too remember the grave stones stacked around the outside walls.
My trip down memory lane today is .....where was the old ice cream parlour in Albert Park? I think it was near the fountain but I am not so sure. I think it was a wooden building with seats outside.
Help needed with that one.
Ben.

The old Ice Cream parlour was indeed near the fountain and it did have seats outside. As you walked towards the lake down the main path, from the fountain, it was on the left. There is green wooden building there now, near the new junior play area.
PS, I remember Ayrseome Gardens when it was still a cemetary, as a pupil at Ayresome scholl I remeber being taken for nature walks around it.
