A TEESSIDE school is celebrating after being awarded a major windfall.

Tollesby - a special school for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties - scooped £9,300 from National Lottery Awards for All, pictured above pupils Michael Owen, Mohammed Ali and Catherine Thompson.
The school, in Saltersgill Avenue, Middlesbrough, will plough the cash directly into projects involving the 11 to 16-year-old students.
Teaching assistant Jan Anderson said: "We applied for the grant but we never thought it would be this amount.
"It's more than we ever dreamed of.
"This money will be spent on the young people - on projects they can do in the school and on a summer school project in the community next summer."
The summer school will involve up to 30 young people and help to develop the existing gardening programme, arts and crafts and health and fitness workshops.
There are also plans to run a disc jockey school.
