WORK has started on a path at Acklam Rugby Club that will provide disabled access.

The 200m path will allow wheelchair users to access the club’s four pitches and will be built from the front of the clubhouse leading round to the furthest pitches.
To mark the occasion the club invited Community Council Chair June Goodchild MBE, pictured above with Ian Dixon, to climb aboard the digger to cut the first sod.
Mrs Goodchild, 66, said: “I think this is a very worthwhile cause and I am delighted to help anyone who has an interest in Easterside and that includes Ray Kelly from the club.
So far initial funding of £2,900 has been provided by Groundwork South Tees but the overall cost of the path is expected to reach up to £7,000.
It is likely that the rugby club will fundraise to keep the project on track.
