A SHOCKED and saddened community has been paying tribute to schoolboy Warren “Wozza Bell, who died suddenly of an asthma attack.
The football-mad 10-year-old, from Astonbury Green, Easterside, Middlesbrough, was one of Beechwood Under-10 team’s top talents.
Friends and family have been remembering his “cheeky smile and “shining eyes.
And devastated team mates have penned a moving poem about a memorable goal he scored on Mother’s Day, just a few weeks before his untimely death on April 12.
His parents Shaun and Elaine described him as a typical little boy who loved mischief.
He has also left two sisters - Megan, 13, and Gabrielle, five.
Elaine, 34, a caretaker at SureStart, said: “He had a good heart and was so loving when you needed him.
Despite suffering from asthma for years, Warren was determined not to let the condition stop him enjoying his life.
He was a popular pupil at St Thomas More School in Easterside and had dreams of becoming a vet.
He also had a treasured pet collection including tropical fish, an African snail called Speedy and a corn snake called Serena and loved going to the skate park on his scooter with best friend Paul Robinson.
His funeral took place on Tuesday at St Thomas More’s RC Church, followed by a private burial.

Beechwood Youth Under-10s poem
We hold loving memories of you,
And the way you used to play,
How can we forget the goal,
You scored on Mother’s Day.
Positioned at the back,
Looking threatening and mean,
You played for Beechwood Youth,
In the colours black and green.
So if we’re playing badly,
Getting beat 4-nowt,
We’ll look towards the heavens,
And scream ‘Wozza, help us out!’
Through tears of grief and pain,
For you our football star,
We pay a final tribute and shout
‘Wozzzaaaa!’
- From all at Beechwood Youth Under 10s.
