Beechwood Under-11s sign off with seven

THE final game of the season saw the Under-11s take on Whinney Banks in the worst weather of the season on a difficult, water-soaked pitch.

Beechwood, determined to end the season on a high, went out to attack with Carl Matthews finding himself one-on-one with the keeper to slot home for his club’s first of seven on 25 minutes.

The scoring continued into the second half with Danny Horrigan adding the second on 40 minutes.

Carl netted his final goal of the season and Beechwood’s third minutes later.

Seemingly taking the scoring in turns, Danny added the fourth midway through the half.

The final three goals came from different players with Andy Goodings adding to his personal goal tally for the season.

Beechwood’s sixth came from central defender Callum Armstrong, his first of the season. The scoring was wrapped up in the final minute with a goal from Craig McEvoy.

It has been a tremendous season, with the boys getting stronger and better with every match played.

A big thank you to everyone involved: The parents, for their unfailing support of the team, the manager Michael Smith and coaches Michael McAvoy and Malcolm Ivison who make it all possible and give so much of their time.

And finally to the players who give it their all every week.

We are so proud of them for all their achievements this season.
