AN Indian takeaway company has pledged a full day’s takings to the Bangladesh cyclone disaster fund.
Staff at the Maharaja Tandoori raised almost £2,000 towards the victims of the cyclone and will also donate part of their wages.
Owner Nurez Zaman, who has shops in Middlesbrough and Ingleby Barwick, said he wanted to help after seeing the plight of survivors of the November 15 disaster.
He said: “I was really glad we raised so much money.
“We also held a collection among customers and I am hoping we will reach the £2,000 when everything is added up.
