BRIDE AND GROOM: Alan Anthony Jukes and Kate Louise Davies, both of Beechwood, Middlesbrough.
MARRIED AT: Waialae Beach Park, Honolulu, Hawaii.
WHEN: Tuesday, August 21.
WHERE DID YOU MEET? On a night out in Middlesbrough, seven years ago.
THE PROPOSAL: Christmas Eve, 2004. Kate said: “Alan turned our living room into a restaurant with candles everywhere and cooked a meal, then he played our favourite song and got down on one knee and proposed.�
THE RING: White gold and diamond stones.
WHAT DID THE BRIDE WEAR: A wedding dress bought from Perfect Partners.
BRIDESMAIDS/PAGE BOYS: Alan said: “Originally we had quite a line-up until we decided to get married abroad, and then Kate’s parents took on multiple roles. My parents couldn’t make the long distance trip due to ill health.�
THE RECEPTION: Two days after we returned from Hawaii we held a party at The Sporting Lodge for about 200 guests. We greeted the guests with leis (garlands) and gave the party a tropical twist with party games including a limbo bar. We had a DJ and a live singer, Brian Dales.
HONEYMOON: Officially it was called a weddingmoon! Two weeks in Oahu, Hawaii, we were there a week before we got married and then a week after the wedding.
HOW MUCH DID IT COST: A lot cheaper than the wedding we planned to have in this country.
