TEENAGERS tried their hands at graffiti in a bid to brighten up their youth centre.

Eight young people aged between 13 and 19 tested their artistic talents on a previously plain white wall at Grove Hill Youth Community Centre, in Middlesbrough.
The teenagers invited graffiti artist Rick Shipley along to help them produce their colourful creations.
Emma Rymer, sessional youth worker for Middlesbrough Youth Service, said: “The young people came up with an idea to revamp the centre because it was plain white walls.

“They came up with the idea of getting a graffiti artist in. They are loving it. It’s really coming on.
“They were a bit nervous at first in case they messed it up, but now it is coming along brilliantly.
The project, which was funded by Middlesbrough Council, was one of a string of activities organised to keep young people occupied during the summer holidays.
