Thorntree teenager Leif Taggart was presented with a WAKO Presidents award off Mr Tom Hibbert on Saturday 20th December 2009.
Leif was the first member of WAKO ever to place at World Level under the new system of
WAKO K1 rules. His skill level is phenominal and he was praised by many other countries fighters and presidents.
After meeting a Russian in the final he was beaten on what is still considered as a contraversial points decision. But being good sportsmen he and coach accepted that the judges decision was final.
Tom Hibbert believed the young mans performance and mature attitude deserved further recognition than just his Silver World medal in one of the hardest fought competitions in the World.
