MIDDLESBROUGH Amateur Swimming Club is appealing for parents of youngsters in the club to become registered officials for the sport.
Currently the club has timekeepers, judges, starters and two referees amongst its members but can always use more officials both to support its own galas and to help at the other galas in which the club swimmers compete.
Officials are always assured of getting the best seats at the gala as well , and there are also training opportunities for the younger generation.
The club is also running a Young Aquatic Volunteer - Timekeeper Course.
Tees Valley Sport, through their Young Aquatic Volunteers programme, are organising a timekeepers course for 14-18 year olds. The tutorial, given by Graeme Smith, will last for one to two hours and will take place at the University of Teesside, on Monday, October 13.
The practical aspect of the course will take place during the Autumn Series weekend of galas at the Neptune on October 18 and 19.
