A TEESSIDE youngster played a supporting role in a record-breaking rollercoaster marathon.
Patricia Thurlow, 11, pictured, was on holiday with her family in Blackpool when she went to the famous Pleasure Beach.
She was there when American Richard Rodriguez was attempting to smash the world record for the longest rollercoaster marathon.
Patricia, of Thorntree, backed his record bid by riding on the Pepsi Max Big One with him every day while she was there.
Mr Rodriguez, 48, smashed the previous longest ride of nine days and 12 hours with a stamina-sapping 17-day stint.
And as a thank you for Patricia’s support she was given a signed T-shirt and two signed photos.
Patricia, who is due to start at Gillbrook Technology College in September, said: “I thought it was great.
“I was riding up to 15 times a day. One day it was actually 20.
She is ready to lend her support again if Mr Rodriguez has another record attempt.
“If he does it again, I would like to do it with him.
