POLICE have issued a warning to residents of an East Cleveland town to beware a bogus charity caller.
The cruel conman has been targeting elderly residents in Loftus.
In one of a number of deceptions reported, a man aged 18-20 called at the bungalow of an 83-year-old police not putting out street address woman at about 4.30pm on Saturday and got away with a small amount of cash.
PC Ingrid Woolfe said: "To dupe people into thinking they are giving to charity is callous."
The man police want is about 5ft 6in and wore a grey wool bobble hat, grey fleece and tracksuit bottoms. Call Detective Constable Nicky Mellor on 01642 302226.
