Thanks for your tip-offs

LOCAL residents have been praised by police for a tip-off which led to a drugs bust.

Police today paid tribute to Saltburn residents who provided information on suspected drug dealing in the town.

Officers from Cleveland Police district support unit entered a flat on Dundas Street, Saltburn on Monday afternoon where they found bags of cannabis with an estimated total value of £4,000.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. He was bailed pending further inquiries.

Saltburn neighbourhood policing officer PC Stuart Smith said: "We are always grateful to members of the public who take the time to call us and Crimestoppers with information about drug dealing and use in our community.

"We will always act upon any information we receive and I'd urge residents to continue to provide information - we will do the rest."
