A MULTI-MILLION pound doctors' practice has opened in Skelton.

The new premises, above, for Dr Roger Neville-Smith and partners, are within the new Hillside Medical Centre on Windermere Drive in the centre of Skelton's residential area.
The new centre, which has seven doctors and employs more than 25 receptionists, nurses, and support staff, was officially launched at a special open evening. More jobs are expected to be created in the future at the site.
Patients Pauline Jackson, a local fundraiser, and Pearly Smith, performed the opening.
The centre includes a dispensing chemist and opticians.
The old practice premises at Byland Road, New Skelton, had become too cramped.
Main organiser behind the project, Dr Mike Betterton, said: "It's a great relief for us to move into the new building.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide services to the people of Skelton from a modern. state-of-the-art building."?
The centre has been built using a £2m PFI initiative.
Skelton Primary School pupils have made stunning silk wall hangings to decorate the waiting room.

This practice is ok if you live on the new estate. Too far from a lot of the residents in Skelton. Too much unused space inside when you look up it's like being in a Church. The only good thing is the computerised check in service.
