MEMBERS of a theatre group are hot-stepping their way to success - thanks to a new dance class.
Adults with learning difficulties at the Earthbeat Theatre Company in Saltburn are being taught to express themselves through dance, Alison Kidger, tutor Karen Heritage, Robert Kneeshaw and Nigel Richardson.
Dance and drama teacher Karen Heritage said: "I was approached by the theatre company to see if I could work with about 65 people with special learning needs and was delighted and excited by the opportunity.
"We had some great fun and great success at staging performances, which made me think it would be nice if they could gain some kind of recognition for all their efforts."?
The course, which is funded by the Learning and Skills Council, has been accredited by the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, and the first students have already completed their level one certificates.
