SEVEN signposts, each featuring sculptures of different kinds of footwear, from walking boots to trainers, are decorating a nine-mile stretch of the Teesdale Way walking route between South Bank and Coatham Marsh, Redcar.
Thanks to funding from the Impetus Environmental Trust, Redcar and Cleveland Council commissioned metal sculptor Jim Roberts to create the signposts, which have been placed at road junctions along the borough's part of the 160km Teesdale Way. The route explores the course of the River Tees from its source on the high moors of Cross Fell in the North Pennines to its outlet at Redcar.
