LOFTUS progressed to round two after defeating TIBS 2-0 in a hard-fought and entertaining tie.
The first 15 minutes were very tight - with both midfields trying to get the upper hand.
George Garbutt, up front for Loftus, was causing all sorts of problems to the home defence with his powerful running, and went close on a couple of occasions to breaking the deadlock.
The only goal of the half came when the lively Dan Stone burst clear and fired under the helpless home keeper.
The second half was dominated by the visitors and only several superb saves from the home keeper kept the tie in the balance.
The tie was put out of TIBS' reach when good work by Adam Thomas on the wing resulted in his cross been turned in via George Garbutt and a home defender.
The Loftus defence again was very solid with Jack Duncan and Ian Stone outstanding.
